Anders Birch is a Danish award-winning freelance photojournalist & documentary filmmaker.

Together with Jakob Vølver he has directed, filmed and edited the two tv-documentaries: “Vi er Jens Jensen”, United Production, TV2, and “Danmark på prærien”, United Production, DR1.

He has previously worked for Strix Television, Mastiff, STV and Partisan Pictures, New York. Today he works as a photographer and a director for United Production in Copenhagen, Denmark. Here he has worked on several tv-series, such as: “Blok på Bistand”, DR1, “De unge truckere”, DR1, “De unge brugtvognsforhandlere”, DR1, “Holder Danmark i live”, TV2, “Løvens hule”, DR1, “Alt for meget velfærd”, DR2.

As a still photographer, his photo essay: “Hometown”, about George W. Bush, won the “Scanpix-prize” and a “Kravling” for best photo story. He was nominated for “Best Photographic Book” at New York Photo Festival.

He has worked as freelance photojournalist for newspapers and magazines like: Politiken, Euroman, The Independent on Sunday, Science Illustrated, Welt am Sonntag, Ud & Se and many others.

He has also great experience as a photography teacher and lecturer.
