For the past decade, Anders Birch has worked at ITV Studios Denmark as an award-winning documentary director, photographer, and post-production producer. He has previously worked for Strix Television, Mastiff, STV and Partisan Pictures, New York.
Together with Jakob Vølver he has directed, filmed and edited the documentary-series: “We are Jens Jensen“, TV2, “Denmark on the Prairie“, DR1, “In Denmark I was born“, DR1, “To kolde fra kassen“, (together with Lasse Rahbek), TV2
He has had leading roles in several other tv-series, such as: “Alene i vildmarken (Alone)“, DR1 “The young truckers“, DR1, “Blok på bistand”, DR1, and “The Junkfood Experiment“, TV2.
As a still photographer, he received both the Scanpix Prize and a Kravling Award for Best Photo Story for his photo essay “Hometown”, portraying George W. Bush. Additionally, he was nominated for Best Photographic Book at the New York Photo Festival.
He has contributed as a freelance photojournalist to a wide range of newspapers and magazines, including Politiken, Euroman, The Independent on Sunday, Science Illustrated, Welt am Sonntag, Ud & Se, among others.
He also has extensive experience as a photography teacher and lecturer.
